howl - a bucky tattoo

i'm currently working on a large bucky-related illustration and i decided that he needed a tattoo on his arm because 1. he is healing from the events of the winter soldier, 2. he wants to honor his days and comrades from the howling commando days

instead of just using the ssr wing or the ssr logo, i thought it would be cool to illustrate the ssr logo and make it a personal piece. so here's the ssr eagle with steve's first shield, and the dates for bucky's howling commando days [which, after a bit of research, was only two years long from the point where steve rescues him from zola's lab to when bucky falls off the train]

you won't be able to see the tattoo in all it's glory in the final piece which is why i'm uploading it now. i'm rather happy with how it came out and i wanted to show it off instead of having people ask about it when my illustration is finished lol

if there's enough of an interest i might put this up as a shirt design in my society6 store!
